All-on-Four

All-on-Four

While cosmetic dentistry and dental implant procedures have come a long way in recent years, by far the most current and most popular right now is called All-on-Four. It involves mounting both the upper and lower arch of teeth on four titanium posts. This system, developed in the nineties by Portuguese dentist Paulo Malo, is revolutionary because in the case of earlier, more traditional implant procedures, it was necessary to perform bone grafts from other parts of the body, such as the skull or the pelvic bone. This left many potential candidates ineligible, due to various health reasons, such as diabetes or other blood disorders. The recovery time was also extremely long, often taking up to 12 months, and required many other complicated steps along the way.

The All-on-Four concept has drastically changed the landscape for those needing total tooth replacement. With a minimum of invasive surgery and a remarkably short adjustment period, it has made having a permanent functioning set of teeth a reality for nearly everyone.

Dr. Sherif and his staff are dedicated to the belief that everyone can achieve a better quality of life with the ability to eat, speak and smile with ease and confidence. He feels that not only are there psychological benefits to having healthy attractive teeth, but it has actual physical health rewards as well. No longer will your diet be restricted to what you are able to chew; you can eat what you like whenever you want to, without the fear of embarassment of having your dentures come loose and fall out, or being unable to chew and swallow what you already have in your mouth; all these factors contribute to a lack of confidence and a lesser enjoyment of some of the best things in life, such as enjoying a meal with friends and family. Permanently implanted teeth will also improve your physical appearance; missing teeth can add years to your appearance as well as causing a lack of definition in your chin and jaw.

If you have loose, misaligned or missing teeth, or if you are currently wearing dentures but find them uncomfortable and inefficient, take the time to investigate the different options that are available to you.
